"I will not bow. I will not break. I will shut the world away..."
Rowanstar was strolling, if his confident stride could be labeled a stroll, through Shadowclan. He often went out alone, patroling the borders. He used the excuse of hunting, always managing to bring back something for the clan. In truth, he liked this time to himself. It gave him time to think, to plan. He and Willow had-
Willowsong. Her name is Willowsong now. He had to remind himself frequently. He was no longer simply "Rowan" and his sister was no longer "Willow". He was Rowanstar - a fearsome leader of Shadowclan. He had been living among the clans for over a moon now, but sometimes he lapsed into his loner habits. He chuckled to himself and grinned. His claws unsheathed, kneading the dirt passing beneath his paws. One habit in particular he was glad to return to. Just the other day he had managed to get Willowsong alone again. He had torn open her shoulder, basking in her fear and pain. He was drunk with his own power. It was a drug for him and he was a proud addict.
He walked now alone, planning his next move. He was not content to be merely a leader of Shadowclan. He could do better. He was stronger, faster, crueler than the others. He could lead Shadowclan to new heights if he had power over not only them, but others too, he knew it. Unfortunately, he had chosen the darkest clan to join. He might have had an easier time in Windclan or Riverclan. However, Rowanstar welcomed a challenge. Now he spent his time plotting. There were two obstructions to what he wanted, and they had names.
Flutterstep is easy enough to take care of. Killed in battle? We just need to start a war. He would bide his time. Shadowclan would start a battle eventually - or he would subtly start one for them - and then Flutterstep could be killed by him, swiftly and quietly in battle. He could later blame it on their enemies. No one would be the wiser.
And then there is Willowsong. I would almost wish she could live, but that isnt really an option now is it? He couldnt decide how and when exactly to murder his sister. She was so fun to toy with, he loved her screams and the feel of her blood running between his toes. But she was getting troublesome, becoming mroe work than she was worth. Plus it was about time she died, she was no longer useful.
What Rowanstar really needed was someone innocent, someone with power that he could manipulat and bend to his will. He would never have expected that the perfect cat was padding along the Windclan border mere fox-lengths away. Rowanstar was about to run into what he was looking for, he just didnt know it.
A breeze blew, sending an unknown scent to Rowanstar. He paused, inhaling and organizing his thoughts. Rowanstar's ears perked and he masked himself. He walked with confidence and openness, a mysterious and inviting hint of a smile on his muzzle. He could lure anyone in, he knew it would be easy.
Come out come out wherever you are...
"I will not fall. I will not fade. I will take your breath away..."

if you believed when i saidthat i wouldn't be thinking about you.
you thought you knew the truth. xx. it moved slowly, a black shadow with a beating heart. a single pale eye that watched and took in everything. it was a creature that held beauty but showed pain in it's cold, dead eyes. The shadow didn't smile, it didn't laugh, it only grimaced and sometimes pulled it's lips back away from it's teeth when it was upset. At this moment, it white shown against it's mouth. The creature was glowering and was obviously upset but only one cat would know why she was so angry. She was one of the youngest warriors but she was stronger than any other. She may have been missing an eye and scarred beyond recognition of her former self, but she was stronger than most of the cats in this clan. She had been trained by the best... no she had been trained by better than the best. This cat was more of an idol to the cats like her. He was what every cat wanted to be if they were attempting to be cold and ruthless and she was exactly like him in almost every way. Most cat's believed that she was his kin and some even tried to pass of the unexplainable, that she was host of his spirit.
xx. The single eye snapped to a figure in the distance. His smell almost completely intoxicated her, but she felt icy claws dig into her heart and she let the anger take over her. Her nose twitched as she lowered to a careful crouch. When most cats did this, it meant they were defensive. Not Flutterstep. For her, it meant she had something on her mind and she wasn't going to take no for an answer. The ocular narrowed and she emerged, watching the smile on his face with an icy, frozen gaze. Her whiskers flicked and she smirked, watching him. The fake smile on her lips was impossible to read. She was amused by the look on his face, but it was a confused amusement. One where her head was throbbing from the wanting of him and the other where her heart knew that he was no good for her. Flutterstep had chosen the wrong cat to become lustful for and she had figured that out shortly after he had killed the former leader.
xx. The tuxedo shifted and lifted a paw, licking it slowly and drawing it over her ear for a few moments before looking at him again. The white patch on her chest became easy to see as she sat before him, no fear in her eyes. She read him easily, like an open book. She had seen his sister come back to camp late in the night and had pieced two and two together. She also watched the glares that he gave her from across camp and she knew that he thought she was problematic for his plans. It amused her how he saw her as a problem seeing as he believed more than anything that he was more dominate than any she-cat that walked across his path. Her tail lashed back and forth and her claws dug into the dirt before she raked each paw backwards slowly and left deep terraces in the ground. She lowered her head, not out of respect, but as a silent warning that if he had trouble now, that he had spoken too soon. Rowanstar. was all she said, her lips moving slowly and rolling and shaping over each letter carefully before it ended with the "r" which flipped and ended sharply. The sound of her voice was soft, quite a change of pace considering the fighting that these cats constantly went though against each other.
xx. She paused, her single eye taking in his appearance and she once again wished that she didn't know what happened, that she was just as gullible and stupid as the rest of this clan so she would be the one with him. But it would never happen that way. Not with the secret that she hid from the rest of the clan, even though she wasn't sure why she did anymore. She had long since learned that he had it in for her and yet something about death enticed her and made her even more excited. She wanted to die, to know what would happen to her soul afterward but at the same time she knew she had more things to live for and things to accomplish in her life. Rowanstar, you truly believe clan cats are idiots. I personally don't blame you, but someone will piece this together, just as I did. But she paused, realizing that she was not the cat to use as an example seeing as they came from the same place. From the loner lands where you played big or went home. There was no in-between in the loner lands, just as there shouldn't have been in the clans. But Flutterstep had learned the hard way that the clans were idiots.
xx. her head tilted just enough so she could glare directly at him and pushed a cruel smile forward. The smile couldn't make it to her ocular, which stayed the same dull color that it was. Flutterstep didn't let up that gaze, the smile fading but the same, dull, deadly gaze watching him. She was marked with so much spilled blood that this cat would hardly believe her let alone actually listen to her story. But it didn't matter. Her story was her story and she wasn't about to share it with a brute that was ready to kill her and wanted to get her out of his way. Her head slowly dipped lower and her shoulders rolled, her whole body following behind and then she snapped her head around, glaring toward the border. Another victim I see? Don't have enough where you are? Her body straightened and she walked forward before she snarled and glared directly at him. Get your priorities straight you idiot. The clan is supposed to be what matters to you. You couldn't care less. You should have left when you had a chance, because now that Foxstar is dead, I will personally see to it that he is avenged.

"I will not bow. I will not break. I will shut the world away..."
"Rowanstar." The voice that said his name was so plain, so ordinary and yet quite set apart. Rowanstar raised his head, noticing Flutterstep for the first time. He looked her up and down, locking gazes with the she-cat. For one of the only times, he didn't feel the urge to curl his lip in disgust at the sight of a she-cat. Flutterstep was almost respectable in Rowanstar's mind, almost there but not quite. She had the aggression and the drive, but when it came down to it - Rowanstar doubted she had the same strength he had. She didn't have the strength to get down what was necessary. That plus her entirely useless affection for the ex-leader made her undesireable in every way.
"Rowanstar, you truly believe clan cats are idiots. I personally don't blame you, but someone will piece this together, just as I did." He watched her carefully, his eyes never left hers. He was searching her now, trying to find her weakness. She was tough physically, blunt and unafraid to speak to him. He began to feel slightly uncomfortable, what was her weakness? They all had one, except him. His ears twitched as he finally picked something up. What was that spark in her gaze as she looked at him? Was there something...different in the way she spoke his name? Rowanstar barely withheld a grin from spreading across his lips. If he hadn't been so well seasoned an actor, the charade would have been over.
Looks like someone has some unspoken desires.... He wanted to laugh at his good fortune. If he played his cards right, he might have the last thing he needed to make his rule supreme. He needed something to tie him to the clan, something that made them trust him and beleive him. He beleived that, as much as he detested the idea, would be a mate and kittens. The only good side he saw was the rise of his social standing and the assurance of a male heir. Who else would Rowanstar trust to rule Shadowclan - and later maybe all the clans - in his stead? Why not his flesh and blood?
"Another victim I see? Don't have enough where you are? Get your priorities straight you idiot. The clan is supposed to be what matters to you. You couldn't care less. You should have left when you had a chance, because now that Foxstar is dead, I will personally see to it that he is avenged." She spoke no more, though the fire in her eyes refused to die down. Rowanstar was silent, letting the lack of words stretch between them. This she-cat was a novelty. She hated him, yet lusted for him like no other. She was pulled towards him, needed him, but also desired nothing more than to see his blood spilled at her own paws.
Now won't this be amusing? Rowanstar finally broke Flutterstep's gaze. Let the games begin. He looked back up at her and, while holding her gaze, slowly walked forward. His steps were slow and purposeful, he kept his eyes trained on her. He stood a mouselength away. He was close enough that when he chose to speak, his voice was like a whisper. "See, now, here are my problems with what you just said." He began to walk slow predatory circles around Flutterstep. His tail swished against his back legs and his eyes were still on her. Many would have thought Rowanstar didn't possess charm, but he would prove them wrong. He possessed it, but he only utilized it when it served a proffessional purpose. This, was a professional purpose.
"What victim, Flutterstep, do you see here?" He let his voice linger over her name, saying it on a breath. "And frankly, I am hurt to think you would assume my clan means so little to me. I care deeply for my clanmates." He paused for affect. "Some in ways that I shouldn't." His voice was deeply suggestive and he closed his circle tighter so their pelts brushed and his tail flicked her legs. He finished his final circle, now standing directly in front of her, but much closer. Their cheeks brushed as Rowanstar whispered in Flutterstep's ear.
"And lastly, I don't think you really want to see me die at your paws just yet. Do you Flutterstep?" His voice was like honey, delicious and sweet poisoned honey.
"I will not fall. I will not fade. I will take your breath away..."

the seven things i hate about you.
your vain, your games, your insecure.you love me, you like her. xx. As he walked around her, her body became rigid, eyes only following him when he walked in front of her face. Flutterstep slammed into him when he touched her and she hissed loudly, warning him not to go near her again. She watched as he made his circle tighter and tighter to her and his cheek brushed her lightly as he whispered in her ear. But her reaction was far from what most she-cats would have done for their leader. Her muscles tensed and she lashed out again, this time her claws unsheathed and raking them in his general direction before pulling away and dodging so she was several feet away from him again. Flutterstep's eye narrowed at him as she glared. Rowanstar may have been handsome but this was not her idea of amusement. She was here to get rid of him while he was out of camp. He may have had nine lives, but all it took was nine secret visits with him and it would be over.
xx. And lastly, I don't think you really want to see me die at your paws just yet. Do you Flutterstep? The last thing he said was the only thing that sank in and clung to her like a pesky tick. She lowered her gaze for a moment before it found him again. For a brief moment the fire inside her had died out but now that she was watching him again, she was back. Back to her original, heartless and pissed off, self. Why wouldn't I want you dead? She said easily, pink tongue licking over her white teeth for a few moments before she pressed her paws farther into the ground and watched him carefully. You aren't as irresistible as you try to put yourself off as. Flutterstep had watched him study her before. She had learned the same technique from her mentor but it wasn't until now that she was thinking about it. With those gears grinding in her head, she smirked slightly and watched him for a few moments. Then she got it.
xx. He thought he had no flaws, and that was his flaw. A cat that believed they had no flaws was usually the one to think that he could do anything and fly off a mountain without being killed but usually would die anyway. She smirked and lowered her head, still gazing directly at him as she got to her own paws, scars becoming slightly more visible along where her eye was missing as well as along her chest and shoulders. She walked directly toward him, her ears bent backward and single eye focused on his. She didn't break his gaze for a moment and smiled for the first time in moons. So what if I like the way you look. I had no problem killing any other cat before and I have liked many before you. Her ears swivelled forward and appeared to almost point at him. Her gaze didn't back down and Flutterstep smirked again, a soft purr erupting from her chest. Luv, you may think you have no flaws, but believe me, you do. Her smile faded to a grimace as she glared directly at him.
xx. She brushed herself against him this time, walking directly past him as her pelt brushed against his and she inhaled for a moment, exhaling again and watching him. But you have flaws. I have seen them in many cats that thought they were completely flawless. Sadly, that is your flaw, your weakness. She smiled again, and i can get rid of my flaw.
you make me laugh, you make me cry. c h a r a c t e r FLUTTERSTEP w o r d s SIXHUNDREDANDNINE t a g g e d ROWANSTAR l i s t e n i n g . t o SEVENTHINGSBYMILEYCYRUS o t h e r WELL THAT WAS FUN. THIS PLOT WILL BE INTERESTING TO SEE HOW IT WORKS OUT.

"I will not bow. I will not break. I will shut the world away..."
He hissed, more with surprise than pain, as she physically rebuffed his advances. His tail flicked back and forth, more of lashing now. However, the feeling of her claws against his skin had only encouraged him. Flutterstep had, probably unknowingly, just achieved something near impossible. She had earned his respect. He always found he could respect a warrior or apprentice that had the courage to not only strike their clan leader, but with claws unsheathed too. Of course, along with that came the need to prove exactly who was dominant. So Flutterstep had earned Rowanstar's respect, but she would ultimately pay for it.
"Why wouldn't I want you dead? You aren't as irresistible as you try to put yourself off as." Rowanstar's lips spread into a grin. She had padded right into a verbal trap. He sat before her now, but he had stood. She had moved away from him, but he didnt intend for the space between them to stretch. He wanted to be nice and close to her. He purred confident words. "Now Flutterstep, why are you asking me a question we both know the answer to?" This was how Rowanstar won his battles. He didn't need to say it out loud or directly, they both know what he meant. You don't want me dead because then I would be lost to you forever. You don't want me dead, because then you would never fill your physical desires. He let it hang in the air, but she was speaking again.
"So what if I like the way you look. I had no problem killing any other cat before and I have liked many before you. Luv, you may think you have no flaws, but believe me, you do." Rowanstar chuckled, he had stood and was moving closer to her again. His steps were slow, but less predatory. His voice had taken on a persuasive air. Flutterstep was more difficult to seduce than he could have guessed. He stood face to face with her again, his voice was low but not a whisper. His eyes held hers, daring her to look away from him. "Flutterstep, when have I ever said I had no flaws? You are inferring this without basis." He smiled and leaned forward slightly. He had mentally braced himself for her to strike him again. "And as to your other comment," he said referring to the fact that she liked the way he looked, "that's the base of our situation now isn't it? I can't say its entirely one-sided either." It was, entirely, one-sided. There was nothing Rowanstar found attractive about Flutterstep. But if saying it would help his cause, then so be it.
He pulled his face away slightly, as if reconsidering his proposal. He looked away from her, his voice light and with tinges of regret. "I was offering you a chance at something we both know you desire more than you want to. Possibly even something I wanted myself. However, if you are so adverse...it could vanish forever. I am sure I can find this elsewhere within the clan." He didn't need to explain that one. Would it irk Flutterstep to imagine Rowanstar, the cat she lusted after, giving just what she wanted to another - probably more beautiful - she-cat? Rowanstar had a pretty good feeling that would get her, if only slightly.
"I will not fall. I will not fade. I will take your breath away..."

i feel it deep within.it's just beneath the skin i must confess that i feel like a monsterxx. he was treading on frozen ground, attempting to break through ice that had long ago frozen so deeply that it couldn't be penetrated or broken. she had begun to lose the respect she had for him just as he had gained the respect for her. She could see it in his eyes that every word of it was a lie. it was so easy to tell that she couldn't help but narrow her eyes and stare directly at him with a warning of what was coming. i am not an idiot. even if you did feel attraction, you would never allow anything of it seeing as i am the only one in this pathetic clan that would even consider harming their leader let alone killing you. her single light green eye twinkled as it watched him for a few moments and she snickered lightly, her muzzle splitting into a grin as she stared directly into his eyes. she had become amused with his closeness, not liking it but finding that as time went on that she was liking it more and more. she twitched her whiskers and curled her claws into the dirt and watched him again. killing came easy for me, just as it did for you, but you haven't been trained since you were four moons old by a heartless killer and you didn't grow up to be exactly like him. She smirked again and brushed her face lightly against his, giving him the satisfaction of the fake feelings that he was showing her and proving that they worked. only a little, but that was enough.
xx. love is patient, love is kind. lust is not. her eyes twinkled and she smirked as she watched him, backing away from him yet again as she turned away and stepped carefully past him, her eye focused on the ground in front of her before she glanced over her shoulder and watched him for a few moments with the deep piercing gaze that she gave everyone. you may think you are a great leader and the strongest cat in shadowclan, but you aren't, i can promise you that. as for your little plot, it may work and it may not... but i wouldn't turn your back on me thinking you could change my mind. She gazed at him for a few moments before shaking her head and staring directly at him. just because i don't want to see you with someone else doesn't mean i cant. if you do, fine, so be it. if you don't, which i doubt you will in the first place, congratulations. she would have to be an idiot for you to keep her around and keep your secrets from her at the same time. she said with a small smile playing across her mouth and she smirked at him for a few moments. she had grown so impatient with him that she didn't want to even look at him, let alone talk to him. but deep down, the feeling for him that she had were taking over, slowly winning what she thought was a losing battle.

"I will not bow. I will not break. I will shut the world away..."
"Just because I don't want to see you with someone else doesn't mean I cant. If you do, fine, so be it. If you don't, which I doubt you will in the first place, congratulations. She would have to be an idiot for you to keep her around and keep your secrets from her at the same time." And there came what Rowanstar had been looking for. Flutterstep had admitted it, admitted that she would not like to see him with another she-cat. She was weakening, slowly but surely. However, she also was able to see right through his lies and instead of furthering his campaign, they were setting him back. It was a rare gift to see past Rowanstar, one that he was not fond of. His tail lashed, but he forced himself to sit calmly. He broke her gaze, dipping his head to give his chest a few swift licks. He looked back up at her. She was now quite far away and seemed intent to leave. He stopped her.
"I'm done putting on a show for you, Flutterstep, primarily because you obviously can see right through it. Why don't we cut to the chase?" His eyes were now cold, as they were naturally. He seemed to be glaring at Flutterstep, gracing her with the full intensity of his gaze. "I was not trained to be a killer as you apparently were, I was born this way." He grinned and chuckled sadistically. "Why don't you ask Willowsong? Or just take a nice close look at her fur." He let that sink in. It was impossible that Flutterstep would have known the secret about his abuse of Willowsong, and he wanted to see her reaction.
"Truthfully, I don't quite understand your hatred for me. Don't you see, we are the same." He was grinning now, his eyes never leaving hers. "We are both cruel, sadistic, uncaring and nothing will change that. You loathe me because you hate that you want me. Don't think I can't see it, you're barely able to control yourself are you?" He rolled his shoulders leisurely and brought his gaze back to her. His words were calm now, businesslike.
"So again I offer you a deal. You want me, and I want a pretty picture for our clan. We can both get what we want. I get the support of my clan, and you," He grinned at her and flicked his tail towards himself. "get all of this." He looked at her, his ears twitching. This was one of his last ditch efforts. He had taken a chance revealing his secret about Willowsong, and now the situation went one of two ways. Flutterstep would either take the deal and have his kittens, or she wouldn't. In the latter, Rowanstar would be forced to kill her. She knew too much and was too similar to himself, plus her consuming desire to kill him was not useful to him. Should she deny him, he could always find another more compliant she-cat. For now, he played the waiting game. He had dangled everything she wanted in front of her, all she had to do was be selfish.
"I will not fall. I will not fade. I will take your breath away..."

The last few seconds in this she-cats mind were stuck on instant replay. He wanted to shut her up by ... being with her? She wasn't entirely on board with that idea and it was easy to see as her eye narrowed and her teeth glistened against her black muzzle as her lips pulled back in a sneer. Her gaze focused directly on him as she weighed her options. they were so narrow, so small that if they were physically in front of her she would have to tread carefully to remain within them. But it wasn't the options that worried Flutterstep, it was all the possibilities that were laced in between them. She gazed at the ground for a few moments, gears turning inside her head as she sat there thinking about what she would do.
in one option, she had to worry about what would happen if she did do it. if she did, she would be at about this same position with him every day and she would hate herself even more for giving in to this overconfident cat. But at the same time, she didn't have the option of saying no. She knew that and so did he. If she said no, she wouldn't be around anymore because he had told her too much about his sister and she knew too much on her own anyway. she narrowed her eyes and looked directly at him again, ears swivelling slowly from pointed backwards to sideways and continued up til they were faced and pointed forward, pricked lightly and she gazed downward again, going back to her thinking. with a frustrated sigh, the femme pushed herself to her feet. she wanted nothing more then to rake her claws across a part of his body to mar his perfect image to her and then she could leave this pathetic place. not just this part in the territory but the clan as well. she couldn't care less about her clan-mates she realized.
but she didn't love him. it wasn't love and it never would be. it was all lust and sadly lust was worse than love. it made you do stupid things that you would never have considered on your own, especially when it is being thrown at you and you are being expected to choose. with a frustrated sigh the she-cat sat again, glaring directly at him. the only thing she was saving if she left now was herself. if she stayed and said no, she wouldn't be as lucky. saying yes, she would have what she wanted until she was done with it. then she would expose him to the clan and leave. leave for good, go to a different clan perhaps and send another clan after him. that sounded like a little bit of fun... with a small smile, the she-cats glare changed, not to one of lust, but to one of that she had succeeded. not just a small achievement that would be forgotten, but one that would leave her happier than she had ever been.
all right. flutterstep said at first and her gaze focused onto him again. but if you even consider doing what you have done to your sister with me, i will make sure it will be the last thing you have ever done. she growled, her voice dripping with malice. she hated know that she had just given in to the last thing she had ever wanted to but at the same time she had a feeling that she wouldn't have been able to say no anyway. not even if she didn't have a plan for her later.
[/color] (OCC//: okay so i was thinking as i was typing this, this would make an epic plot. if you don't get what im talking about, re-read the third paragraph. i was thinking of making that as the site plot where there is a fight between this clan and whatever clan she leaves to as well as a split between shadowclan, the ones that believe what flutterstep says and the ones that think rowanstar is just what he says he is. i think it would be pretty awesome to do. <3)

"I will not bow. I will not break. I will shut the world away..."
"All right, but if you even consider doing what you have done to your sister with me, I will make sure it will be the last thing you have ever done." Rowanstar's grin widened and he felt a purr rumble in his throat. Of course the purr had nothing to do with Flutterstep, but pride and triumph in his own achievement. He stood, walking slowly closer to her. He was a truly massive tom, irregularily so. He stood, a tail length away, and already towering over her. He grinned, his eyes flashing as his tail swished from side to side against his back legs. His claws, unsheathed as they often were, kneaded the dirt gently.
"Its a plan." His voice was low, filled with anticipation. He had everything he needed, within reach. With his "mate" and kits, his place within the clan would be secured. What could they find to distrust in him if one of their own had taken him as a mate? If he had kits, he had to be redeemable, trustworthy. He wasn't, but that didnt really matter. What mattered was his power, absolute and unchallengable. He grinned, stepping slightly closer to Flutterstep as he did so. He was eying her now, catching the gleam of lust in her gaze that she so desperately wanted to hide. He knew that he had control, though it could be temporary. Should she choose to betray him, she could do considerable damage before he was able to kill her. Hopefully though, she would realize her place.
"Now, why don't we return to camp like the happy new couple we are?" He had what he wanted, as far as he was concerned this meeting was over. He had no further need of her presence, but to put on a show for the clan. She would have his kittens, though he had absolutely no desire to fulfill that part of the deal anytime soon. He loathed the thought of unnecessarily touching Flutterstep without the intention of causing her pain. He began to turn away, his eyes still filled with malicious joy and sadistic triumph.
"I will not fall. I will not fade. I will take your breath away..."
