BRONZESTAR
name ;; Bronzestarage ;; 50 Moons.gender ;; Tomclan ;; Riverclanrank ;;Leaderappearance ;;
Bronzestar is a fairly large tom-cat with shaggy bronze fur. His massive frame is adorned with many a battle scar. Such as one above his eye, one along his belly, and many hidden in his thick fur. Most noticeably, perhaps is the large chink in his ear from his first battle. When he was just an apprentice Bronzestar, then Bronzepaw, entered at fight with a warrior. He proved his mettle by sending the warrior fleeing, but his opponent still managed to give him a parting gift.
Being an older cat, his handsome Bronzefur is just beginning to grey at him muzzle and his once bright green eyes are just beginning to dull. Despite this, he is still a strong cat who moves like a force of nature. He was never the best of hunters do to his tendency to make an entrance instead of creeping up.
Bronzestar has a loud booming voice that has not been diminished in the least by his climbing age. All in all he is a cat of immense presence and prowess. He may not be the fastest of runners, but really, who needs to run when you can take any cat in the forest?
His fur is a dark bronze with flaxen streaks often picked up by the sunlight. He is a long-haired tom and his fur is extremely thick. It is not uncommon, when walking through Riverclan territory, to see tufts of bronze caught on the reeds.personality ;;
Bronzestar carries sense, and practicality like a shield. Even in his youth, when cats are wont to be reckless, Bronzestar was as steady as the bedrock. Though he never had the ambition to be learned and wise he makes up for this serious short coming by becoming a master strategist. He is always planning and sitting with various advisers. Bronzestar values intelligence when he sees it and and attempts to surround himself with it.An old adage 'You can't teach an old dog new tricks' comes into play, however. Bronzestar, though willing to listen to new ideas, is not the most receptive to changing the way things are done. In his mind, he has always done things a certain way and nothing has gone especially wrong, therefore it must be the best way.
All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. Bronzestar is a natural workaholic and likes to be doing something productive at all times. He feels uncomfortable sunning himself on a warm rock when the Thunderclan border hasn't been patrolled in a while. He is a bit high-strung and doesn't always take it as well as he might when he is given the good advice to 'chill out'.
Though never having a deep connection with Starclan himself, Bronzestar recognizes that it is a deeply rooted part of Clan culture, therefore he dutifully returns to the moon pool in times of hardship. He relies on the advice he is offered more or less as it is usually good. He is not strictly speaking a non-believer, he feels in his heart that Starclan is real, but he is a very down to earth kind of cat. He feels, in his heart of hearts, that those deceased should allow lake cats to make their own decisions. Despite this belief, he almost always listens to what they have to say.history ;;
Tansyflight was a dedicated warrior, committed to contributing all she had to the clan. For many warriors that meant being the best warrior they could be, but for Tansyflight, that meant a little something more. Tansyflight could give kits; new young warriors to defend Riverclan! She got the notion into her head that to truly do all that she could for her clan she had to mother kits, therefore, she set about looking for the perfect specimen to father them.
Enter Mintfur, a tom about the same age as Tansyflight, perhaps a bit younger. Mintfur wasn't on a fanatical quest to serve Riverclan, he was just a tom looking for a good time. Tansyflight knew this and looked down upon him for it, but she could not ignore the obvious. Mintfur was a large black tom with mint green eyes, healthy and strong. It could not escape Tansyflight's attention that his genes would make excellent warriors.
She convinced him to mate with her, no huge difficulty given that she was a fine looking cat, a delicate calico with wide amber eyes. The product of that union was two kits, a she-kit and a tom. Two healthy and strong kits, one black and delicate, the other bronze and big-boned. Tansyflight christened them Linnetkit and Bronzekit. She then preceded to shove their father out of her life and out of theirs. She decided that she would have no layabout influences corrupting her kittens.
Linnetkit grew into a tall and wiry Linnetpaw and Bronzekit grew into a big and fuzzy Bronzepaw. Linnetkit became sarcastic, cynical, and clever, while her brother became good-natured, if not slightly befuddled, loyal, and strong. The siblings thrived in competition with each other. The two seemed to have inherited their mother's passion for Riverclan. Tansyflight could not have been more thrilled. Mintfur had little interest in his kits and the pair were wonderful assets to Riverclan. She congratulated herself on a job well done and preceded to back up from her kit's lives and observe them from a distance.
As the siblings grew, and eventually became warriors (Linnetsong and Bronzeclaw), trouble began to arise. Linnetsong did not feel at home in Riverclan, surrounded by cats. Being constantly spoken to caused her to act surly and detached. Bronzeclaw, who cared for his sister greatly, was worried and entreated her to tell him the cause of her depression. Linnetsong confided in him that she did not feel like she was meant to be a clan cat and that she felt no real desire to defend Riverclan. Bronzeclaw, who had never felt anything but the unswerving devotion that his mother had instilled in him towards Riverclan, was shocked and horrified. He begged his sister to reconsider, to look inside her heart and try to find some of the love for Riverclan that their mother had taught them. Linnetsong just shook her dark head and blinked the green eyes that were so distinctively her fathers and murmured, "I know that you will never understand this, brother, but I feel as if the life of a loner would suit me better."
Bronzestar was disgusted, angry, betrayed. He yowled at his sister, called her a traitor, a deserter. He made Linnetsong into a pariah. She was hated by her mother, avoided by her clanmates and scorned by her once beloved brother. Linnetsong decided it was all much more trouble than it was worth and simply slipped away. Riverclan territory was searched but of course she was no where to be found. When a heavy-hearted Bronzeclaw delivered the news to his mother that her daughter had left the clan to be a loner Tansyflight disowned her daughter in the presence of the clan. Bronzeclaw declared that she was dead to him and pretended not to miss her wry humor and sarcastic wit. The experience, however, left him with a special hatred for loners and rouges.
Bronzeclaw was a popular choice when he was made deputy. The Linnetsong scandal was all but forgotten and as far as Riverclan was concerned, Bronzeclaw was perfect. Tansyflight was ecstatic and even the under-achiever Mintfur commented that he had always known that his son had it in him. However, Bronzeclaw would never forget Linnetsong. To him she was everywhere, her black pelt was in the reeds, her green eyes were among the cats at the gathering, and her dry laugh followed him in his dreams. He almost wished that she would show up he missed her so, but of course she was no where to be found.
Bronzeclaw became Bronzestar when his predecessor, Rosestar was struck down in battle. His mother all but wept for joy and the whole clan rejoiced and declared that Bronzestar would begin a new era for Riverclan, but Bronzestar was and is not happy. He clings to the hope that somewhere Linnetsong is alive and watching him and his goal is to find her.family ;;
